1. Policy Statement

FamilyAmour is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children using our supervised contact services.

2. Our Approach

We believe that the welfare of the child is paramount, all children have the right to protection from abuse and harm, safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and we must work together with families and agencies to protect children.

3. Recognising Abuse

Our staff are trained to recognise signs of physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and domestic abuse as it affects children.

4. Responding to Concerns

If a member of staff has concerns about a child's welfare, they will listen carefully, document the concern accurately, report to the Designated Safeguarding Lead immediately, and avoid investigating independently.

5. Information Sharing

We will share information with statutory agencies when there is risk of significant harm, when required by law, or when necessary to protect the welfare of a child.

6. Safer Recruitment

All staff undergo enhanced DBS checks, reference checks, verification of qualifications and experience, and safeguarding training before working with children.

7. Training

All staff receive regular safeguarding training, including induction, refresher sessions, and updates on legislation and guidance.

8. Record Keeping

We maintain accurate records of all safeguarding concerns, actions taken, and outcomes. Records are stored securely and retained in accordance with legal requirements.

9. Review

This policy is reviewed annually or sooner if there are changes to legislation or following a safeguarding incident.
